Dr Kylie-Anne Richards

Ph.D (Mathematics), Deputy CIO

Dr Kylie-Anne Richards serves as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Fortlake. In addition to her executive duties, she is a Fortlake Asset Management Board member.

With an extensive background in domestic and international markets, Kylie-Anne has held significant positions, such as Head of Financial Engineering for the Asia Pacific at Macquarie Group in Hong Kong and Head of Indexation and Quantitative Trading Research at CLSA in Sydney. Prior to joining Fortlake, she was the Director and Portfolio Manager at QTR Capital, a proprietary trading firm focusing on MSCI Global Index rebalances in developed markets and depository receipt arbitrage in Australia and the USA.

Dr Richards maintains a tenured appointment at the University of Technology Sydney, where she actively contributes to research and teaching in sustainable finance, green finance, ESG, and high-frequency finance. She has developed and taught Sustainable Finance courses for various programs, including the Master of Finance, MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Financial Planning, and Microcredential suite. As an internationally published academic, her work has appeared in journals such as the ‘International Journal of Financial Engineering’ and ‘Statistical Inference for Stochastic Processes.’

Kylie-Anne earned her PhD from the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and was the recipient of the QRSLab Boronia Managed Funds PhD Scholarship in 2011. She also holds a Master of Finance (Financial Engineering) from the University of Hong Kong, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics and Statistics) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Melbourne.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Kylie-Anne is a dedicated Board Member of Sport & The Spectrum Ltd, a non-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of children on the Autism Spectrum through sports.
