Dr Peter Higgs
Ph.D (Economics), Chairman and Chair of the Investment Committee
Peter has over 30 years of extensive international experience in funds management. He is Chairman of the Fortlake Asset Management Board and Chair of the Investment Committee.
Peter is also Chair of TGM, a specialist global asset allocation and currency overlay asset management company, which today transacts approximately $10b in equity and bond futures and $25b in FX p.a. in its investment programmes. In addition, TGM offers a global equities strategy incorporating the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Peter is based in London where he also chairs Wellers Impact, an asset management firm that partners with charities in Africa to develop commercial buildings as well as managing a clean water, sanitation and plastic recycling fund that invests in SMEs in the global south.
Peter has also been working with Interpeace in Geneva as an honorary advisor to help create a market for peace bonds, a use of proceeds bond that funds post conflict projects in fragile regions.
Peter has a B.Ec (Hons) from La Trobe University and an AM and PhD in Economics from Harvard University. Peter was awarded the Academy of Social Sciences Australia Medal for excellence in research. Peter is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (Finsia), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD) and a Member of the Institute of Directors (MInstD) in London.
